Model Row Formatting and Appearance

Model Sheets in Weissr provide robust formatting and editing capabilities, similar to Excel. These features, accessible through the Action Ribbon, empower users to customize cell styles, alignments, and numerical representations, while also providing tools to enhance data entry and review processes.

Formatting Tools in the Action Ribbon

1. Format Painter

  • Copy and apply formatting from one cell to another efficiently.

2. Text Styling Options

  • Bold, Italic, and Underline: Customize cell text to highlight key data or headings.

3. Borders and Alignment

  • Top Border: Add a top border to separate data visually.

  • Text Alignment: Adjust text placement horizontally (left, center, right) or vertically (top, middle, bottom).

4. Font Customization

  • Font Size: Modify text size for better readability.

  • Font Color and Background Color: Enhance cell appearance by changing the font and background colors.

Numerical Formatting

1. Percentage Formatting

  • Input as Percentages:

    • Input percentages (e.g., enter 15 for 15%) directly in cells.

    • Values are saved as decimals (e.g., 0.15) but displayed as percentages in resolved model.

2. Decimal Points

  • Define the number of decimal points shown in a cell.

  • Default Setting: No decimals are displayed unless specified.

Row Management

Adding Rows with Context Menu

  • When adding a row using the Add Row Below function in the sheet's context menu:

    • The new row is added with an empty caption and empty expressions.

    • Formatting from the row above is copied automatically to maintain consistency.

Additional Action Buttons

1. Expanded View

  • Switch the grid into Expanded View to see all years within a period as separate columns.

  • Allows precise adjustments to period-related settings, such as period deltas.

2. Find and Replace

  • Quickly locate and update text or formulas within the sheet.

  • Verification Before Saving: All edits are validated to ensure they result in valid values. If invalid, the changes are aborted.

3. Materials and Material Filters

  • Materials Button: Opens the Materials section for managing material definitions and order.

  • Material Filters Button: Opens the Material Filters section for creating and editing material filters.

4. Preview Mode

  • The Preview Button expands the grid and replaces formulas with placeholder numbers.

  • This allows users to review formatting, applied deltas, and layout without leaving the model.
