Dynamic time resolution

In Investment Plan views, users can view expenditures in different time resolutions, such as monthly, quarterly, or annually within each year. It is common to view the current year in monthly increments, the following years in quarterly increments, and any remaining years in yearly increments. The administrator defines administrator defines a standard resolution setting, but users can adjust the time resolution at any time directly in the grid.

Time resolution is part of the Investment Plan view configuration and can be defined by a Superuser or adjusted by individual users.

There are three available types of resolutions:

  1. Monthly

  2. Quarterly

  3. Annual

Resolution Modification:

  • Users can directly modify the resolution for each year in the Investment Plan grid to view data in a convenient way.

  • Magnifying glasses are provided for each year in the Investment plan, enabling users to zoom in or out on the resolution.

Zooming Options:

  • For each year, users can choose to:

    • Zoom In

    • Zoom Out

Zooming Limitations:

  • If zooming in or out is not feasible for the current resolution, the corresponding option is grayed out, indicating its unavailability.

Manual and automatic resolution modes

Investment Plan supports two resolution modes:

  • Automatic mode – resolution is defined by system defaults

  • Manual mode – users select specific years and adjust resolution individually

Manual mode is activated when users select specific years in the Outlay years configuration.

Relation to outlay years

Resolution works together with selected outlay years.

  • Users can choose which years to display

  • Each selected year can have its own resolution

This allows precise control over how financial data is displayed.

Saving resolution settings

Resolution settings are saved per user and per Investment Plan view.

This includes:

  • Selected resolution per year

  • Manual or automatic mode

Your configuration is preserved when returning to the view.

Reset resolution

  • Use Reset to restore default resolution settings

Default resolution is defined by the Superuser.

This feature is available in both Capex Management and Capital Budget Investment plan.
