Capital Budget Allocations

If your organization uses the Weissr Capital Budgeting module, projects that are included in one or more capital budgets will display a dedicated Capital budget allocations menu item within the request, if you have permission to view capital budget data.

🔒 Access control: Visibility of this menu item depends on your user permissions. Access to capital budget data is defined by your administrator. If you don’t see this section, it may be restricted based on your role or access settings.

What you’ll see

Under the Capital budget allocations menu item, you'll find:

  • A list of all capital budgets the current project is included in.

  • The budgeted amount allocated to the project for each of those budgets.

  • The time breakdown of budgeted amounts shown per year.

📌 Note: Only capital budgets where the project was included and approved will appear. If the project was rejected or postponed in a budget, that budget will not be shown.

Understanding budgeted amounts in the capital budgets table

Budgeted amounts are shown on a yearly level, based on the number of years set in the project’s Analysis period length (Property ID 78). This ensures alignment with the project’s financial planning horizon.

📌 Note: These values represent what was approved during the capital budgeting process. They may differ from the final approved amount in the project request, which can change based on updates or re-evaluations later in the approval workflow.

Budget status bar

In the top right corner of the request, you’ll see a budget status bar. This bar always shows the budgeted amounts for the capital budget that starts in the same year as the project’s Capex budget year (Property ID 4).

This provides a quick snapshot of the most relevant capital budget associated with the project at the time it was expected to receive formal approval.

Summary

The Capital budget allocations view helps you:

  • Track how your project is distributed across different approved capital budgets.

  • Understand the budgeted amounts over the project’s timeline.

  • Access a consolidated view of budget allocations without switching to separate budget planning tools.
